The Election Commission of Pakistan-administered Kashmir has announced a change in the schedule for the third and final phase of the state assembly elections following concerns over the law and order situation and apprehensions expressed by contesting candidates. According to the Election Commission, polling scheduled for August 10 (Monday) has been postponed in seven of the 11 assembly constituencies in Poonch Division. Elections will now be held as per the original schedule in only four constituencies of the division. The seven constituencies where polling has been postponed are located in the districts of Rawalakot and Pallandri. Meanwhile, elections will proceed as scheduled in three constituencies of Bagh District and one constituency of Haveli District. More than 450,000 voters are registered across these four constituencies in Bagh and Haveli.
