Muzaffarabad The process for the formation of the new government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir has entered a crucial phase with the election of the 17th Prime Minister of the Legislative Assembly expected to be completed on August 27. Consultations and political negotiations between the senior leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League N PMLN and the Pakistan Peoples Party PPP are reportedly in their final stages. According to sources PMLN has finalized consultations to nominate Shah Ghulam Qadir as its strongest and final candidate for the office of the 17th Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir. Nominations for 8 Reserved Seats Elections for the eight reserved seats in the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly will be held on August 24 while the newly elected members are expected to take oath on August 25. Sources say that both PMLN and PPP have finalized their likely candidates for the reserved seats. Women Reserved Seats PMLN Maryam Idrees Mirpur Maryam Kashmiri Muzaffarabad and Sehrish Qamar Poonch PPP Zobia Khurshid Raja and Farhana Yaqoob are expected to be nominated. Technocrat Seat PMLN Barrister Iftikhar Gilani is expected to be the party candidate. Ulema & Mashaikh Seat PMLN Pir Syed Mazhar Shah is expected to be nominated.
