Independent Candidate Khawaja Tariq Saeed Alleges Election Rigging in LA17 Haveli After Meeting with Election Commission Haveli Independent candidate from Constituency LA17 Haveli Khawaja Tariq Saeed has claimed that there is evidence of alleged electoral rigging in his constituency and announced that he has decided to submit a formal petition to the Election Commission. Speaking to the media he said the petition could not be filed earlier because roads were blocked but all relevant documents will now be presented before the Election Commission. He claimed that according to Form 24 records excluding 15 polling stations his total vote count stands at 22,300. Khawaja Tariq Saeed alleged that ballot papers were stamped at the Prime Ministers residence and claimed that a video showing three individuals casting 700 votes would soon be made public. He further alleged that his polling representatives were obstructed and that votes recorded in his favour on several Form-24s were transferred to the Prime Ministers tally. He also claimed that at one polling station 34 votes belonging to the Prime Minister were entered under his name while 500 of his votes were added to the Prime Minister s count. He said the Election Commission is legally bound to ensure free and transparent elections and has the authority to take all necessary measures. According to him, all Form 24 documents and other supporting evidence will be presented during the hearing scheduled for tomorrow while applications for certified copies of the election records have also been submitted. Khawaja Tariq Saeed stated that he has no objection to any candidate receiving more votes if those votes genuinely reflect the public mandate. However he said altering the actual mandate of voters would be against the principles of justice. He further claimed that different results exist for some polling stations while the Form 24s in his possession bear official stamps and signatures. He also said that people have been protesting over what he described as the theft of the public mandate with women joining demonstrations and sit ins at various locations. He argued that contrary to voting patterns over the past decade some polling stations recorded unusually high one-sided vote counts raising serious concerns among the public. These are allegations made by Khawaja Tariq Saeed during his media interaction and have not been independently verified. #alnoornews
