Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has said that governments are not being formed according to the people’s mandate in the current electoral system. Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said that when governments are not formed according to the will of the people, it creates a crisis of trust. He said the PDM has acknowledged that the system is not functioning and described it as a manifestation of incompetence. However, he added that merely acknowledging the problem would not be enough; it must be examined how people can genuinely be brought into the electoral process. The Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan chief said the problem is not limited to any single aspect of the system. Ordinary people have no meaningful share in it, and merely making superficial changes will not resolve the issue. The system itself needs to be reformed, and the only solution is to uphold the Constitution. Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman welcomed the Makkah Agreement and said that Iran, Qatar and Bangladesh should be included in its next phase. He said the Makkah Agreement should focus not only on defence but also on economic cooperation, adding that the Makkah defence alliance should openly stand up to Israel. He further said that people in Gaza continue to be killed, while the United States has become a tool in Israel’s hands. #alnoornews #kashmir #highlightseveryone
