Jammu kashmir news

Jammu kashmir news Unofficial and unconfirmed results have emerged from polling held in four constituencies during the third phase of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections, with several major upsets reported. According to the unofficial and unconfirmed results, former Prime Minister and President of the Muslim Conference Sardar Atiq Khan has lost in LA-14 Western Bagh, where Sajid Abbasi emerged victorious. Sardar Zia Qamar won LA-15 Central Bagh, while former Prime Minister and President of IPP Azad Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas and PML-N candidate Mushtaq Minhas were also defeated. In LA-16, PML-N candidate Sardar Mir Akbar is leading, while Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has won LA-17 Haveli Kahuta. LA-14 — Western Bagh Unofficial and unconfirmed results from all 214 polling stations in LA-14 Dhirkot have been received. According to the results, Sajid Iqbal, candidate of the Awami Dast-o-Bazu Party, won the constituency with 40,702 votes, while Muslim Conference candidate and former Prime Minister Sardar Atiq Ahmed Khan secured 19,542 votes. Sardar Atiq Khan’s defeat is being described as a major upset, as the Muslim Conference had won this seat continuously since 1985. His father, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan, also known as Mujahid-e-Awal, had repeatedly won the constituency. In the past, several alliances had been formed against Sardar Atiq Khan in Western Bagh, but none had succeeded, and he had consistently won the seat by large margins. Awami Dast-o-Bazu Party candidate Sajid Iqbal adopted a different political strategy and managed to defeat Sardar Atiq Khan. According to sources, Sajid Iqbal has a major business in the UAE. Over the past five years, he reportedly spent millions of rupees from his own pocket on development projects in the constituency, including roads, schools and water supply schemes. This reportedly earned him significant public support and helped him defeat the strong political figure. Sardar Atiq Khan’s defeat means that the regional political party Muslim Conference has been left without representation in the Assembly after decades. In the previous election, Sardar Atiq Khan was the party’s only successful candidate. LA-15 — Central Bagh Unofficial and unconfirmed results from all 181 polling stations in LA-15 Central Bagh have been received. According to the results, PPP candidate Zia Qamar won the seat with 16,637 votes. PML-N candidate Mushtaq Minhas finished second with 15,015 votes, while Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Brigadier Raja Muhammad Khan secured more than 12,000 votes and stood third. Former Prime Minister and President of IPP Sardar Tanveer Ilyas finished fourth. In the previous election, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas had won the seat with more than 19,000 votes. Following his disqualification, Zia Qamar won the subsequent by-election. LA-16 — Eastern Bagh According to unofficial and unconfirmed results from 174 of the 186 polling stations in LA-16 Eastern Bagh, PML-N candidate Sardar Mir Akbar is leading with 18,950 votes, while Pakistan Peoples Party candidate Sardar Qamar-uz-Zaman Khan is in second place with 15,750 votes. Reports indicate that re-polling will be held at 12 polling stations in LA-16 Bagh-III. The Election Commission has withheld the complete results of the constituency until the re-polling is conducted. Polling was halted at some polling stations following clashes, while voters boycotted polling at some others. LA-17 — Haveli Kahuta The unofficial and unconfirmed results from all 190 polling stations in LA-17 Haveli have been received. According to the results, Azad Kashmir Prime Minister and PPP candidate Faisal Mumtaz Rathore won the seat with 31,839 votes. PML-N candidate Chaudhry Mohsin Aziz secured 28,975 votes, finishing second, while Tariq Saeed stood third with 8,295 votes. Meanwhile, the PML-N candidate has accused Prime Minister Faisal Rathore of electoral rigging. According to sources, PML-N workers have staged a sit-in outside the office of the Returning Officer. It is worth noting that in the initial results, PML-N candidate Chaudhry Mohsin Aziz had been leading in the constituency. #AlNoorNews #AzadKashmir #AJKElections2026
